R29 Prism and Diamond Fields Present The Bear, the Bare, and the Maiden Faire

Nestled within the underbelly of Diamond Fields is Bearskin Grotto an underground biome with a history of a powerful creature that once called it home. Since we have many fans of Game of Thrones and since it will be currently running when this event occurs, consider this a little homage to the show, training for us all for what is to come, and the hopeful first successful Nomadic Merchants Association event.



This is a costume themed event so you must be a bear, bare or a maiden, and we will have a faire.

Wear a bear head costume (which will be provided if you need one) -- The Bear
Wear just your underwear or your spectacular Emperors New Clothes Regalia---- The Bare
Wear a dress or bodice (boys can too) basic items will be provided if you need them --- The Maiden
Gals if you are like me and like to live in your armor that will count as the maiden too, I won't force anyone to wear dresses as a female, boys bodice-dress-bear or bare sorry thems the rules.
If not dressed in one of the categories during random credit giveaways you are not eligible. (it won't be shouted out more than likely so don't think about a quick deck swap .. its a theme party.. please participate heh)



The Faire part comes in from working to get the Nomadic Merchants Association going where various POT's will host each weekend a group of traveling merchants via row house occupation. For this event I will be able to sponsor at least 3 row houses for merchants who wish to kick this thing off. In addition to the costume part, the event will have 2 contests, the groveling event and the balloon jump contest time permitting. (non death event with a rug as a target as first seen in R25)



Groveling
When new games launch we will see folks asking for gold, asking for armor 1 hour in. We will see outrageous things like can someone give me 60,000 gold so I can get a house .. one week into final wipe.

I actually heard someone ask at about 4 hours after a wipe about a chest, they were told they cost 200 gold in soltown and what materials were required to craft. For over one hour they kept begging for a chest and made comments like well I will help people but if no one helps me I wont. FACEPALM. (yes they were told no one had money yet, and that they too had just logged in, but you know how some folks are. This was before Hospitallers and was an inguild request just to be clear... it was give me now! or else)

So for us all to train for what is coming we are having a groveling contest in jest.

that this in no way is diminishing the need that new players have (they just don't NEED 60,000 gold to buy xxxxxxx. This is a just for fun and perhaps as a training tool when the request is not so outrageous on how you could help this new Outlander.

Contestants will take the stage and have 3 minutes to use all their skills, voice, emotes, dance routines whatever they can do to convince the judges they are worthy of receiving whatever it is they are askingfor. It could be a red corvette if you are feeling Princely . it could be 5 full grown immortality fruits .. it can be a UI that did xxxxxxx .. what you ask for is up to you. How you win is in how well you beg for this item.

(Note that the red corvette analogy was written before Prince's untimely death - it stays in)

From the judges perspective they have whatever outrageous or not so outrageous thing the groveler is asking for, and their scores will determine "if they get the item/money" whatever.

Contestantsthe sky is the limit, or you can go small and simple the choice is up to you, your presentation will determine the winner. Ask for anything, be creative.

Judging Criteria

Appearance 1-10 (dressed well doesn't mean undeserving, does their appearance fit what they are asking for?--lowered value because of wipe, lack of dyes folks may have gathered etc so close toa wipe.) (thanks @SeleneNoctua for suggestion)
The Pitch 1-20 (does theirspeech/emotes routine invoke empathy)
Did it work? 1-20 -(If you had the means to give them what they want without missing it in the slightest, howlikely are you to do it, pretend you do!)
Overall Presentation 1-20 (your general appreciation of their efforts)
*the judging criteria may get tweaked a bit in the next week or so

1st place 20 dollars
2nd place 10 dollars
3rd place - to at least 7th place 5 dollars -- if we have a lot of participation this may be extended further.

I never judge my own events but I really wanna judge this one heh .. so I am looking for 2 additional judges for this who will receive 10 dollar store credit. I know we have some very creative and funny people in the community so I challenge you to start thinking about coming up with your script for this.

Side Event Balloon Jump as first seen in R25 (after groveling contest time permitting--- non death event)

A hot air balloon will be placed near a structure and atop the structure a rug wil be placed with a centertarget. It won't be high where it will kill you when you jump. (We did this at the fastest decorator in the west for those that recall) First person jumps they are the closest since first, then the next person jumps .. if 2nd person is closer, the first person leaves the rug, rinse and repeat till all have jumped with the last man standing winning. (From Fastest Decorator in the West Perception was client side based - so one person will determine the closest - this may seem not right to your eyes from how your client draws it, so to be fair only one person can judge and you may disagree but we have to trust that person which will likely be me, I do not play favorites)

10$ first place
5 dollars 2nd place

We will also do some random 5 dollar store credit giveaways in between blocks of contestants as well, more participation equals more random prizes. I may ask folks to stop moving or line up single file so a RNG from the net can determine the winners.
