Think you know your way around the overland map and towns without using /stuck or /zone? Put you body where your mouth is and join Prism and Diamond Fields for a jog around the world with a dip in the water as well. While a triathlon would be nice, there are no motorized/mounted meansof transportation, so we will have to settle for running and a water skill. Contestants will start in Diamond Fields and be given a flyer which will name at a minimum 5 checkpoints they must visit, and collect a flyer from the race official stationed there (a hint to their actual location willbe provided). Your route is up to you, avoiding bottlenecks for getting that flyer is up to you. (it takes time for trades). An optimal route will be time trialed and if anyone reaches the water checkpoint under that time we anticipate, we are going to have to assume you use the /stuck or /zone command and you will be disqualified. Once you have obtained the required flyers form your checkpoints you will then need to travel to a final destination where you must fish up a set number of specific fish. All will be documented in your initial handout flyer for the event. First person to turn in all the flyers and correct number of fish will win. Some will say well I can just stockpile fish now and cheat on that part ... yes you canbut guess what the spectators will be standing there as will race officials and know you did not actually fish up those fish in the time you were there. Additionally if anyone reaching the fishing checkpoint does not havea fishing pole one will be provided, but that takes time and slows you down. Same for worms, an official can give you worms but that takes time, so up to you if you are going to supply those yourself or ask for them due to financial reasons. I suggest folks start learning where various locations are ,and work a bit on fishing after this wipe. Note that no POT'sother than Diamond Fields as the starting point will be on the race route.Scenes and NPC towns are fair game. Officials will be wearing color coordinated gear and their names will be on the initial flyer as well. Minimum prize guarantee of 20$ credit for first 10$ for second and 5$ for third.This may be extended to other finishing positions depending on turnout. Random store credit prizes for spectators, contestants and race officials will be for a minimum of 50$ total. This may be extended depending on turnout. Since we have checkpoints, well I course need some volunteers to stand in a town or scene with the flyers to hand out to the participants and you must be willing to wear the fashion fiasco I will give you. I will also need the race officials to be able to head to their zones without giving away their locations and take the flyers specific to their locations so it is imperative they arrive 30 minutes before the racers, get their flyers for locations and the start gun aka fireworks are fired. To be a race official I need to schedule a 1 on 1 trip with me to your checkpoint destination to ensure you know exactly where to stand so that the racer flyers can be printed correctly. This is a multi day time investment on your part andI can award a 10 dollar store credit for your time. (So looking for 7 volunteers - 5 for checkpoints 2 at race end or as backup for no shows) So with all this said Race Officials Check in at Diamond Fields at 11:45AM NBT Racers Check in and receive their checkpoints 12:15pm NBT Race Starts 12:30 NBT As with all my events if you have feedback or suggestions don't hesitate to speak up. When I say Kilt you say Scotland, when I say Scotland you say Golf! Therefore Prism and Diamond Fields invite you to come challenge our putt putt golf course On March 19th at 1pm NBT. Participants will receive kilts and the winners will receive the infamous New Brittania Masters GreenJacket, which just happens to coincide with the Irish St. Patrick's celebrations. Store credit prizes for the lowest scores across all the holes for will be given out. 1st 20$, 2nd 10$, 3rd 5$ We will also have theballoon jump contest again for spectators with cash prizes for that as well. Pictures of the progress of the course build will be coming. Kilts, Golf, Beer (since no Scotch in game), and Green are the keywords for this event.

For those that know there was an American Television show called American Gladiators where contestants had to finish a race course where the 'Gladiators' attempted to slow them down. While I am building the R27 putt putt golf course in a continuous stretch it occurred to me that it is almost a race track by design. I cannot do race tracks like Avatar's Radio does, but I can use my golf course, add the human element of Gladiators and make this event. The plan is to reuse the golf course, enable PVP, and have Avatars as Gladiators who will attempt to slow down the racers. We will limit the spells to gust for the push back, root for the slow down and snare. (if you have suggestions as to other gladiator abilities let meknow) There will be no actual pvp, contestants should not try to kill the gladiators, or spectators, nor should the spectators participate in killing or slowing down the contestants (that could be fun too where all spectators are the gladiators, but guilds could gang up on non guild racers so we won't be doing that) This is truly important .. spectators do not engage the racers, keep it controlled and fair by your honor, Lot/POT bans will be enforced. Since most countries have flag colors of red white and blue, I will be providing contestants and gladiators red white and blue themed outfits as part of the contest. This doesn't make it american, sinceits the the most common flag colors. I will be looking for a minimum of6 up to 10 Gladiators. You should have gust, snare or root trained, youdo not have to have all 3 but it would make you a more versatile gladiator(you will only use those or others once the community has chimed in, thispost will be updated with that and make it clear). I of course am thenlooking for challengers! You don't get to strike back, but I believe it is dash, blink and teleport that are your counters (could some elaborate on the possible defenses folks could use for this it would be appreciated, they are skills I know exist, but do not train) Sprint, dash by contestants will be allowed. Gladiators will have a 'zone' they are limited to for use of their abilities .. they cannot head hunt you. Prizes will be (3) 5 dollar randoms to the gladiators 20$ for first place 10$ for second place 5$ for thrid place Please note while the putt putt golf course under development in Diamond Fields will be used for this, depending on community adoption a permanent arena may be constructed.

To all! On the 27th of December there appears to have been abit of a mix-up, with the Calendar showing a Tavern Christmas event whichduplicated the run ran a week earlier. We're still trying to figure out how it occured. Regardless, we're laying on an extra Tavern event in an effort to get people through the misery of January!
